2025 Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade

Mecklenburg County Council Scouts have once again been asked to participate in the Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in uptown Charlotte.  We will once again be carrying a huge America flag and it will require at least 50+ Scouts and leaders to handle it.

This is a fantastic opportunity for our Scouts! We will need someone to step up as the main POC as Cubmaster Ripson will be out of town for Thanksgiving and cannot participate but we should try to be there!!!!

Check-in location and instructions:

The staging area is designated for unit drop off and preparation.  Parking is NOT provided.  Parking can be found throughout Uptown and along roads running parallel to the parade route.  It is recommended that participants park near the end of the parade route at the Convention Center, NASCAR Hall of Fame or the Duke Energy Center.  Our check-in and staging point will be at 731 N College Street at the intersection of Montfort Point and College Street.   Our staging/unit number is U31.  If you need help finding us, the headquarters will be located at the corner of 9th St and Tryon St.  Plan to arrive between 3:30-4:30.

Health and Safety Protocols:

The health and safety of all participants, guests and staff is a top priority.  Parade organizers are taking several precautions to limit the spread of illnesses, including Covid-19, RSV, Flu, or other contagious diseases.  You are encouraged to:

  • Stay home is you are feeling ill or exhibit symptoms of Covid-19, RSV, Flu, or other respiratory illnesses.

  • Consider receiving vaccinations for Covid-19, flu and other recommended immunizations that you may be eligible for.

PARADE DETAILS:

The parade will step off at 5:30 p.m. from 9th Street on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. It will march south on Tryon Street to Good Samaritan Way (previously known as Hill Street). We expect the parade to last approximately 2 hours. It takes around 30 minutes to complete the parade route (it covers 9 blocks) from step off to performance area. The performance area in front of the WCCB TV cameras will be set up near Ally Charlotte Center. Family, friends, and viewers are NOT allowed in the performance floor area. The parade will air live on WCCB TV at 6:00 p.m. as well as Thanksgiving Day and early Christmas morning.

No objects are to be thrown into the crowd along the parade route (i.e. candy, shirts, toys, etc.).   Appropriate items may be handed to spectators along the parade route, though we discourage handing out items.
