The Order of the Arrow invites all Cub Scouts in the Mecklenburg County Council to spend the day Fishing at Belk Scout Camp and learning about Frontier Life in the OA Frontier Village. The event will begin at 9:30 AM and end at 3:00 PM. When: October 4, 2025, 9:30 am until 3:00 pm Where: Belk Scout Camp, Midland, NC Who: Cub Scouts in Mecklenburg County with Parent/Guardian Cost: • $5.00 activity fee for Cub Scout, Parent/Guardian free. • Optional bag lunch $5.00 per person. Pre-Order Lunch when registering. It will be provided at the Dining Hall. • Special dietary restrictions will NOT be provided. • Otherwise Bring your own lunch. Requirements: • Following the Guide to Safe Scouting, a parent or guardian must accompany their Cub Scout. • Health Forms Parts A&B will be required for each participant, Scout and Adult. Forms will be checked at check in and will remain with the parent/guardian. • Bring your own lunch. Or Pre-Order Lunch when registering. It will be provided at the Dining Hall. Provide any dietary restrictions. • Bring sunscreen, a hat, lunch, eye protection or sun glasses, and a fishing rod if you have one. Fishing rods and eye protection will be provided on a first come, first served basis. Fall Fellowship Fishing Program Outline 9:30 – 10:00 Check-in Cub Scouts with Health Forms. 10:00 – 10:15 Fishing Briefing Using spincast rods (Safety, casting, finding, catching and releasing fish. Give out Fishing Pamphets) 10:15 – 10:45 Backyard Bass Competition Who can catch the most backyard bass with a spincast rod? 10:30 – 11:00 Begin Fishing 11:00 – 12:00 pm Free fishing and Open fishing contest Who can catch the most fish Who caught the first fish? Who caught the biggest fish? 12:00 - 12:45 Bag Lunch pickup at the dining hall. Head over to Frontier Village to eat. 12:45 – 3:00 Tour the Frontier Village and learn about life in 1600s. Followed by free time in the Village. 3:00 pm Event Ends
